Future event ~ MERDEKA MONTH MOTIVATIONS FINALE... let's end this merdeka with a bang!

Visit our new blog at www.thecoolerexperience.blogspot.com

What a sad day for all EDM lovers that a MASSIVE ON-OCCASION RAVE PARTY had to be SHUT DOWN because of political inclinations. Booo...

If you know about this issue... let's jeer the suppressors together. Boooooooo...

EVENT CANCELLED : Summer Sensation Music Party, Sunway Lagoon, 30th August 2008

This is an excerpt from The Star

Beach party cancelled as it clashes with Selangor’s Merdeka ‘do’

PETALING JAYA: The Summer Sensation Merdeka Countdown Musical Party has been cancelled because it clashes with Selangor’s Merdeka celebrations. Subang Jaya Municipal Council president Datuk Adnan Mohd Ikhsan said approval was not given because the two events clashed.

It said in a statement the move was taken “to prevent conflict which might be not appropriate to our local culture”.

A DKNS spokesman said the authorities were concerned that “there would be liquor involved during the party”.

“They are worried that things might turn violent, and so they advised us not to hold the event,” he said.

Well... what to do eh.

I’m sure you have your merdeka weekend all mapped out. For some of you, popular nightspots around town will be THE place to be. I.e. Zouk, Maison, Euphoria, Laundry etc.

Others might prefer an exclusive merdeka eve evening with loved ones and/or close friends at some posh location with great view of them fireworks. I.e. The Apartment, 7atenine, Impiana, Sunway, No Black Tie, Alexis Bistro etc.

A unique bunch would go all out to find the best spots to view them merdeka eve fireworks on top of a hill, by the lakeside, somewhere along the MRR2 (you’re adding to the congestion mates) and other great locations around town.

The rest maybe just a bit CLUELESS and decides to join in the massive public celebrations at KLCC, Dataran Merdeka. Putrajaya etc. (We at The Cooler Experience respect your choice but we do it with much dissagreement. Plenty of reasons why not to join the hordes of people at this kinda celebrations)

But if you’re having a crazy HOUZ / HOTEL / SERVICE APARTMENT party with tonnes of booze, great party games, great company and maybe a DJ… then my friend, we are off the same bunch.

GOD knows what lies ahead for the CoolerClubbers cause HOUZ / HOTEL parties always…ALWAYS brings out the ‘BEST’ in all of us. Check out pass similar parties...

So GOD bless all of you party people… no matter who you are, where and what you will be doing (or doing it to… ehem) and…

HAVE A FUNKTASTIC COOL MERDEKA EVE AND LONG MERDEKA WEEKEND 2008!!!

May this Merdeka brings us:

 hope for a better future

 hope for a better, long, lustfull and lively life ahead

 with obviously less fuel prices and less economic fuck ups

 no extremist ruling and regulations

 more crazy and fun-to-watch political circus

 a steady increase of ‘sponsored’ events admist this chaos and

 only the Cooler Experience in what ever the heck you’re in to

Peace out!

When you sober up, regain mental sensibility and get connected to the net, these reviews of pass events attended will be up on this blog.

Future event ~ MERDEKA MOTIVATIONS EXTENDED... 2 syiok parties with syioker benefits of attending.

Visit our new blog at www.thecoolerexperience.blogspot.com

This is not the continuation of our selected MERDEKA EVE 2008 party previews. That's in the next post.

I felt compelled to divulge you party people on 2 exclusive pre-merdeka eve parties. Actually, I forgot bout it up until I went trough my mail a couple of hours ago (how could I... sorry guys).

First exclusive pre-merdeka eve party was informed to me by the good people at Catcha corp (Juice mag). Can't even find the announcement elsewhere on the net.

The e-mail title read something like this

RM 10,000 worth of Prizes to be won at CLIVE's House Party!

Now that's how you get people to parties. PROMPT and DIRECT to the heart and soul of 'sponsored' party people (like mua and the crew here at The Cooler Experience)

The HOUSE party

Party Info

WHAT
 Read the info on the pix below

When you put MARION CAUNTER and LIVE POLE DANCERS in one page... aaaaa... *sigh*

WHEN / WHERE
 28/08/2008 (Thurs), 9pm onwards @ Poppy Collection (Nice venue selection), 18-1, Jalan P.Ramlee, 50250 Kuala Lumpur. Contact: 03 - 2170 6666

HOW
 2 ways... first way, read the info below

WHY ATTEND THIS EVENT?
RM 10, 000 worth of prizes... FULL STOP! Nah... I'd attend this purely because I know and appreciate the difference in between events and normal club nights. I LOVE EVENTS.

Again I must stress the significance (and humour) of Marion Caunter + Live Pole Dancing... under 1 roof. Aaaaa... *sigh*

And when you have sponsors like the these

Party sponsors list (not bad...)

Plus attendees incentives such as

Goodie bag and lager

What else can I say.

Oh ya, that's the Thursday night party. There's another one the night after. Equally matched or maybe even better. Even knowing where it's going to be held, gave me great hopes for a good night out (to know what I'm referring to, click HERE).

FREEDOM SERIES 2008 - Countdown T-2 : FREEDOM Kuala Lumpur @ Red Square KL 29/08/2008

The Freedom Party Series

'FREEDOM'... sound familiar huh? It should be. They used to be the year's most talked about beach party at Port Dickson which featured Tiesto. Click HERE for past party experience at a Freedom event.

I can never forget the 'Tiesto' experience but I have never... EVER forgotten the trashing I got, this blog got for supporting the event. Even the whole nation protested in mainstream media etc. You bloody protesters. Leave us be!

Party Info

WHAT
 Hip Hop pre-merdeka event brought to you by FREEDOM. Some words from the organizer

The heart of the nation will start beating in new ways. With sets set to spin by world-renowned mixmeister DJ Cobra and homeboy favourite DJ Fuzz, you know you’ll be in a whirlwind of the sickest beats ever.

Say goodbye to the typical and say hello to the exceptional. Come and experience first time ever in Malaysia interactive LED dance floor which we will be bringing.

The LED dance floor as stated above

WHEN / WHERE
 29/08/2008 (Fri) @ Red Square Vodka Bar at Cap Square, Jalan Munshi Abdullah

HOW
 NO COVERCHARGE. Just walk in, no questions asked. But if you came dressed in BLUE, it would be better. Tell you why in a bit.

WHO
 Performing at the party would be DJ COBRA & DJ FUZZ

WHY ATTEND THIS EVENT?
The venue speaks alot about how good this party is going to be. Table-top dancers, trained-friendly waiters and barmen and an adventure with the cocktails menu just to name a few qualities about this venue. The organizers... hey, they brought in Tiesto and held 2 days of a wild beach party. Enough said.

Also, the best part. The reason to wear everything BLUE as the organizers will be giving away alot of prizes. ALOT... 5 hand phones, 2 PSP and Nintendo Wii to celebrate the countdown to Merdeka

NICE...

What is needed to win... Come dressed in BLUE and fill in the contest form, will confirm your chance to win.

Plus, everyone gets a Freedom T-Shirt for free once you fill in the contest form at the door.

Now, what else can I say?

Next post, the one about the Merdeka Eve 2008 parties around town will be up on Friday (29/08/2008), 8pm.

After a long absence riddled with insecurity and over-dependence on selective electronical items (my PC VS Laptop)...

I AM BACK IN BUSINESS

My curious cat wondering why am I taking pictures of boxes

Muahahaha! The wonder of new toys/gadgetry for MEN. It's like XMas morning everytime we open the box of our new BOY'S TOYS.

Another weekend fun-filled with MERDEKA MOTIVATIONS party series. Spent the entire Sunday falling in and out of conciousness lazying around in bed with the other-half... it was blissfull...

This was due to 3 parties that week which are...
  • OK! Celeb Fest Party @ Zouk KL, 20/08/2008 (Unlucky Draw Wed)

  • Heineken Music presents Impulse: A Junk Music Project @ Heritage Mansion AHR, 22/08/2008 (unplanned Fun Fri)

  • Levi’s 501 Live Unbuttoned Launch Party @ Ruums KL, 23/08/2008 (Crazy Sat nite party)
Will try (TRY is the key word folks) to post the happenings and pictures of the above events A.S.A.P. (As Soon As I'm not forced to deviate to something else and cause the late post to be A LATE POST)

Let get cracking and fuel our special dreams, desires and dispicable-plans (no hamsap plans ok... clean thoughts) for

MERDEKA EVE 2008 PARTY LINE-UP

First up, among the few COOL-WORTHY parties selected in this 2 part post...

OUR MAIN CHOICE for a good NON-MAINSTREAM, OUT-OF-ORDINARY Merdeka Eve 2008 party...

For you UNDERGROUND EDM LOVERS out there. Brought to you by our fav Psytrance Mulitia... THE EPIC TRIBE

DARK MOON RISING is set to be a life-changing gathering of mind-expanding musicians, organic artists, and die-hard revolutionaries.

Power up with the unlimited energies of the dark moon as we come together for one more colossal celebration before we observe the month of sacred calm.

Yzdar VS thesuperglo

HOW
 Ok, a bit different from the previous parties but at a very reasonable Merdeka eve covercharge around town... RM15 + 1 drink

WHY ATTEND THIS EVENT?
The next installation of this one of a kind party series will set to RAISE your psyche, CHANGE you psychology and bring ONE step closer to PSYCHEDELIC-TRANCE-A-RIFFIC moment.

If I have a choice (and I always do actually), I'd avoid your normal clubbing experience ESPECIALLY during holiday eve nights. You know why...

How about massive on-occasion raves? Yep... they can also do the job, but don't you wish you had a small scale, close-knit friendly society of raw EDM lovin people to have fun with?

Can't imagine? Think about this... think about your private electro party movers like LAPSAP and Twilight Action Girl. Think about your shuffler gatherings. Think about that one-of-a-kind house party with a real DJ (very rare around here)

Now, think about the personal attention you crave from DJs... the one where you can go up to the DJ no matter who you are and make a request or chat up before/after their set.

Combine the two and you get The Epic Tribe and its related EDM collective and friends. A bunch of craft-oriented bedroom DJs and EDM producers doing what they do best and shares it to those who love this kind of music.

Simple right...

Stay tuned...

Future event ~ Brits LEE VS American LEE (Round 2)

Visit our new blog at www.thecoolerexperience.blogspot.com

Still out of order

Went to the OK! Celeb Fest last night at Zouk KL. Check out the party preview HERE.

Had a fun Stouty and Unlucky Draw time. Will post it asap. At least the Public had the VIP treatment and the celebs had to stand downstairs (it's about time!).

Lets continue with ROUND 2 of our Brits LEE VS American LEE party series. Check out ROUND 1... HERE

This Saturday, 23/08/2008...

One of the most talked about PARTY around town...

Where invites are exclusive and event attractions have so much promise...

Levi’s 501 Live Unbuttoned Launch Party @ Ruums KL

As many of you know or might have been aware off, there is a large scale campaign going on by the people at Levi Strauss Co. (Levi's Jeans). Aptly and naughty, the campaign is called Live Unbuttoned.

This is the excerpt from the press release issued by the people at Levi's.

‘LIVE UNBUTTONED’ WITH GLOBAL LAUNCH OF NEW, INNOVATIVE LEVI’S® 501® MARKETING CAMPAIGN

SAN FRANCISCO (JULY 21, 2008) – The Levi’s® brand ‘unbuttons’ a global marketing campaign to celebrate the iconic Levi’s® 501® jean. The campaign, titled ‘Live Unbuttoned’, is the Levi’s® brand’s first integrated global campaign and the biggest marketing program the brand has ever undertaken.

‘Live Unbuttoned’ encapsulates the unrestrained, free-spirited and self-expressive attitude behind the world’s most perfect, timeless and quintessential straight-leg, button-fly jean.

The theme of the ‘Live Unbuttoned’ campaign centers on the experience of “unbuttoning” yourself and breaking free from inhibitions and convention.

This campaign gives us a unique opportunity to let a new generation of jeans consumers around the world know that the original, quintessential 501® jean is contemporary and relevant to their lifestyle. No other jeans brand can do this.

(source - www.levistrauss.com, read full release HERE)

Cool info
Levi’s® brand sold in more than 110 countries they are the No. 1 jeans company in the world.

I bet that you have a pair of Levi's. So do your friends, their friends, Facebook/Friendster connections, blogging friends, your immediate family, their friends, your extended family, their friends... their cousins, uncles, aunties, grandpas, grandmas............

You get the picture. Back when I used to adore mainstream brands, I had one... ok, maybe it was 2-3 pairs a season. Hey, they're comfortably-trendy.

This fresh global campaign has reached our shores and they are having a launch party for the campaign's installation to celebrate the spirit of 'Live Unbuttoned'.

The party

WHAT
 Official Levi’s 501 campaign (Malaysian charter) launch party. Lifestyle and fashion type of party with plenty of promotional showcasing via trend setting agendas.

WHEN & WHERE
 23/08/2008 (SAT) at Ruums KL, 1st & 2nd Flr. Bangunan Life Ctr., Jln. Sultan Ismail, KL. (Contact: 03 - 2161 8162)

WHO
 Brought to you by Levi's (M'sia), WASP Studios and ICOM. Hosted by the oh-so-famous Joey G, the launch party will feature live performances from

 Local indie wonder HUJAN
 HipHop champ POINT BLANC
 After-party DJ set by the nu age party duo, Lapsap

plus an artsy showcase by

 Joe Tribe (you know him, famous street wear designer)
 Bee of PhobiaKlik (graffiti artist)
 The Click Project (online arts/design collective)
 Bei Lum (local artist)

a fashion show and also works display by winners of Levi's 501 Songwriters & Design Competition.

HOW
 Entry either by exclusive invitation (my invites came trough courier *ehemmm*) and by small-window online registration only.

Registration has ended though. My advice to those wishing to go is to look for windows of opportunities in the net. I kinda saw like a couple of blogsites and net forums where you can obtain the passes still.

WHY ATTEND THIS EVENT?
Hmmm... FOR THE LOVE OF LEVI'S, LETS GOOO!!!. Nah... it's only for those really interested in the brand to have invested time and effort to retain the invitations, you should really... REALLY be there and not miss this.

To the rest without invites... you should take your net parousing up a notch... take time to look out for party notices etc... or you just read our blog cause we will give you the low-downs on the happenings of sponsored parties around town (I'm a self-promoting bia*&^ am I? ).

That's all folks. Have a pleasant and relaxing weekend this week...

as next weekend will be the MASSIVE MERDEKA EVE MOTIVATIONS MADNESS MISADVENTURES MORONICALLY-INCLINED-BEHAVIOURS MANIC MANIACAL MATREMPITS MASHERS MASHING... party series where we say goodbye to crazy-parties and embrace the holy month of Ramadhan.

Implications of Ramadhan for non-Muslims (as said by CoolerFuzz)

 Constantly having to be aware of your Muslim friends/colleagues daily fasting rituals or constant good-natured teasing and provocating them with food (take your pick)

 Also being constantly aware of those who are not fasting and bombarding them with personal questions

 Mental strain from the MAD amount of rush hour traffic in the afternoon as the Muslims will b busy with breaking fast preparations

 More mental strain knowing that there's an increase in work load to finish before everyone heads off for Raya holidays

 Even more mental strain knowing that most Nightlife establishments will be keping a lower profile for the next month in respect of a nationwide cultural inclination (a.k.a less sponsored events. NO MASSIVE PARTIES)

 Nightlife establishments (I'm under the assumption that they are owned/managed by non-Muslims) will also face a sudden decrease in business due to... *ehemm*

Know what can make you dang pissed but there's nothing you can do about it?

The time when you have a computer hardware break-down and you can't do squat about it. You can't fiddly faddle... Can't tweak around... Can't find short term answers...

And when your LCD monitor went kaput and it's just off-warranty by a couple of months... you know you're a couple of hundred ringgits POORER.

OUT OF ORDER

But... fortunate for me, I have back up. *yeaaa*

I have nothing inside this laptop. No pictures, no music/vids... NOTHING.

This will do for now. I'm never a techie person and I don't like carrying my laptop around for other reasons beside work. My best companion is still my desktop. Years upon years of conditioning made me feel at home with my desktops rather than their small compatriots.

Also because I deal with alot of picture editing. The best softwares I have can only be supported by my PC. And what a heavy load it is. But I do type faster on the laptop though. Weird...

A couple of LAPTOP blogging announcements.

 Will continue with the Levi's party preview a bit later than previously mentioned (all the material is in the other computer)

 This is a dual-purpose post. I was invited to another party past weekend. The party is TODAY. Found out that the public can attend it as well

 I will make a compilation of MERDEKA EVE 2008 PARTIES set to happen in our city (so far, only 2-3 are worth going)

 Another installment of our fav UNDERGROUND EDM parties is set to happen at the end of the month. Will put this up too in due time

Without further adue, blogging on his laptop now... announcing the FABULOUSLY CELEB FUN-FILLED FIASCO

WHERE
 Soon to be closed for renovations... Zouk Club KL. *tears...*

HOW
 Well, unless you have invites from the organizers... head down to your nearest magazine stand and get the August issue of OK! mag. The invites should be somewhere in the mag.

WHY ATTEND THIS PARTY?
Well... chance to rub shoulders with them celebs maybe? I'm going for the event. I figure there should be something worth going like performances, games etc.

Also to check out what the magazine (and it's event sponsors) are all about as I'm sure there'll be some people running around for this purpose.

Plus, what is not spent on the venue (maybe it's sponsored.. I don't know) will be allocated to make the party better in any way. You would be surprise that some really good parties are held on week days. I know I was.

And...

Hmmm... RM 300? Really? Worth checking out.

OK! Gtg now.

I sure do miss my PC. Get back to this blog in a couple of days (maybe Friday) after reading this post. Will be very...VERY busy but I will get my act together till then.

Stay tuned.

Future event ~ Brits LEE VS American LEE (Round 1)

Visit our new blog at www.thecoolerexperience.blogspot.com

Busy, busy, busy...

NO parties for me this weekend. Too much work. The only party went was Ollie's 21st birthday bash (family affair) @ Nikko Hotel KL. Will put this "U rated" party up soon.

The boys (Khvn van Buuren and Calvin) went for the Klubbers.net Annual party feat. Aly & Fila (EG) last weekend. NO PHOTOS FOR THE BLOG??? wtf... must have had a wonderous trance-iatic fun time. Dang...

I was also invited but did not attend the 1st live shooting of Latte @ 8 with Jason Lo (there goes my sponsored Starbucks and goodie bag). Dang it...

Two other sponsored clubbing events where a bucket of Tuborg was waiting for us, were missed 'em too. The events were:

Tuburg "Green Beat" Party pres. DJ Elektroy @ Three Kingdoms, SOHO KL pass 01/08/2008 and,

Tuburg "Green Beat" Party pres. DJ Stanley (AUS) @ Garage, SOHO KL yesterday (15/08/2008)
Calvin> I understand that no one wanna party without their gang/group/click etc, but you MISSED 2 buckets of Tuborg for nothing man. Dang again and again and again...

Anyways...

Upon request of you beautiful party people out there, I will feature a double-delicious fashion-oriented sponsored event.

As many of you know or might have been aware off, there is a large scale campaign going on by the people at Levi Strauss Co. (Levi's Jeans). Aptly and naugthy, the campaign is called Live Unbuttoned. Heard of it?

And they are having a launch party for the campaign's installation in Malaysia this coming 23/08/2008. By exclusive invitation and small-window online registration only. Registration has ended though. Will see if I can dig up more info on how to get into this event (maybe by covercharge etc).

The launch

The party will feature
  • a fashion show
  • live performances from local indie wonder HUJAN and HipHop champ POINT BLANC plus
  • an artsy showcase by Joe Tribe (you know him, famous street designer), Bee of PhobiaKlik, The Click Project, Bei Lum (local artist) and
  • works display by winners of Levi's 501 Songwriters & Design Competition.
Will continue in detail in the next part of this two-part post.

Kinda looks like a heavy and MUST-GO event doesn't it? It is... But not many people know that there is an EVENT-COMPETITOR (hmmm... kinda) which I believe to be off the same level if not better than Levi's event. And the event is

LEE COOPER pres. BRIT MONDAY LIVE @ Coco Banana, Sunway Pyramid 18/08/2008

So that's why this post is called the Brits LEE VS American LEE events. (Olympic-related pun intended)

Before we get to the party, I'm not really sure if all of you out there are aware of who/what LEE COOPER is. I myself, years ago, thought that it was a good copy of Levi's Jeans.

Actually...
Lee Cooper is a British denim company. The company was founded in 1908 by Morris Cooper as an overalls manufacturer. The company then manufactured fatigues during both World Wars. After WWII, the company began manufacturing jeans as leisure wear.
That's a 100 years. OMG! In order to celebrate 100 years of British fashionable jeans, they are throwing a BRIT ROCK PARTY for us.

The Party

Official e-poster/flyer

Event Info

What
 Weirdly, a Monday night Brit Rock gig at Coco Banana.

Who
Stunning performer/band line-up such as
 DJ Bungah of TAG (Twilight Action Girl)
 Bittersweet (Ipoh Mali)
 Meet Unlce Hussain (NICE)
 They Will Kill Us All (ALL RIGHT)
 THE TIMES (SWEET...)

When
 18/08/2008 (Monday???), 8.30/9.00pm till late

Where
 Coco Banana, Sunway Pyramid (ex Q-BAR)

How
 Free entrance for 18 and above

Why attend this event?
You love to rock? In particularly Malaysian Brit Rock... you have to go. I'm featuring the bands detail and video clip so that you can have a feel of what's to come.

No covercharge, a chance to hopefully win some stuff (if they have on stage competition) and to check out what Lee Coper designs are all about.

This is... a social branding type of event where they want you to see/feel/taste/smell etc of what the brand has to offer. I bet the performers will wear Lee Cooper apparels.

Well, all I can say about jeans is that it's not how it makes you look, but how it makes you feel... True? not true? Don't care?

Plus... COMPLIMENTARY TUBORG LAGER FOR 1ST 100 GUEST

Mmm... good

So if you have absolutely nothing to do (or even if you do have something to do), let's head down to this gig and Brit rock till ya knickers fall off! You know you should.

Next part will be the AMERICAN LEE (Levi's jeans Unbuttoned Party)... it'll be another detailed post too.

Maybe in a couple of days.

Rock out!

CoolerClubbers for the night was Edmundo, SueSue, Dhaima, Ollie and your friendly neighbourhood party blogger.

Manning the entrance booth (table actually) was DJ Radzy a.k.a Yzdar. Friendly fella. Performed on that night.

EPIC TRIBE peeps

And off to the other dimension via the spinning spiral staircase.

Upon reaching to this new dimension.

On deck... DJ ODDICON

Hard paced psytrance.

A subliminal blend of psychedelica add in some rare grooves, some jazz funk, definitely a massive load of euphoria

Front row!

Left halfway trough the set to get some carpark 'motivations'.

When we came back... the psychedelic dimension HAS SPREAD TO THE OUTSIDE...

NICE...

Local diggeridoo extraordinare. SUBLIME...

Thoroughly entertained (and 'motivated')?

HELL YEAH!

Warp in back to the indoor PSYMENSION (new word, psychedelic + dimension... you guys can use this for next party installment)

and the crowd was PSYCH UP!

Imagine a living room size party area. Close-knit community I'd say, to have enjoyed partying here.

We missed Yzdar (we thought he was last to spin)

But on deck, equally psychedelic...

THESUPERGLO

thesuperglo, DJ and producer collective PSYCH the ravers with his techno and progressive mixing styles

And we psytranced the night away, in this timeless dimension, where hard-thumping music brought us to euphoria...

He brought us to a pulpish state of psychedelica till the end...

NICE...

DJ and raver goofing around.

EPIC TRIBE... we salute you!

Check out how euphoric some of us was (now this kind of pix I'm good at)

Music-driven-ecstacy

Sitting ain't gonna stop us from psytrancing

What am I doing here... wtf...

Tired party faces

Met this friendly fella. Told us he came to the party upon reading our blog. Thanks mate! (get back to us so we can put your name up)

The Cooler Experience would like to thank the great peeps at Epic Tribe, FoundationKl and its collective for your continous progress in the scene and support for the blog.

Next psytrance party we call it... PSYMENSIONS...

ok? not ok? Hehehe... just kiddin'

Up till today, August seem to be abit dry especially in the sponsored events department. So far only 4. I have listed them up.

Plus, we missed the launch on Kent's new brand/rebranding etc at the Mines. Dang...

Party on!

Chiowz.

PS - Don't forget, for latest mixes from underground EDM mixologist... check out the creme de la creme of bedroom DJs/producers at www.foundationkl.org.

You can get mixes, load your own, check out the community etc. Go I say... GO!!!

Picking up from where we left off, the dancers left so we change our focus to the bar

CAUSE THE BAR WAS ON FIRE!!!

They have a 10-meter Flair Show Bar. Nothing is too much to entertain the bar crowd?

Hmmm... they have more...

Barmen/flairer spitting FIRE!

Nice way to show off your skills.

Carefull not to burn your patrons. After a short break to calm down and drown more of the beverage offerings...

THE DANCERS CAME BACK

and this time...

THEY BROUGHT THE BIG GUN

In order to burn the house down (literally), a fire-based performer was deployed (and a "puporsefully-costumed" one at that)

Fire breathing

Fire eating

As if that was not uplifting, the crew started partying themselves. Which kinda got the guest to start partying. Nice...

Even a CoolerClubber got sucked into it. NICE...

PARTY ON GIRL!

That pretty much ends the night.

Oh... What a good party it was.

Salute! to Red Square

Salute! to sponsored events.

We like cocktails...

But we ADORE martinis!

Well party people, this is where it ends for "July is going to murder us... but we die a happy death" series.

The verdict... summer 2008 butchered our party-loving arses. Fantastic... FANTASTIC events. Hope for more to come.

And when they do, you'll sure to find a your friendly event/party blogger, the CoolerClubbers around.

Thank you for your continuos support for our baby blog.

We hope to party harder, have tonnes of care-free fun, to meet all the cool party people we can and to take this niche of ours to higher heights.

Party first, blog later.

Peace.

Stay tune as August, our MERDEKA MONTH MOTIVATIONS has its fare share of parties. It is the Merdeka eve season anyway.

Event Review
Hmmm... media party. The media might be there but the photographers sure ain't. I counted 3-4 offcial media rep. I even met and helped a rep from Harian Metro (wait... isn't this the media that trashes youth cultures deemed unsuitable by some fractions of society? I.e. 2 Days of Freedom)

Event offerings... mentioning about cut-off time for sponsored beverages was not clear. I heard 9.30 then 10.30 then none at all for lager. A mentioning of cocktails as an offering but only for certain guest? That's not fun isn't it. Somehow, guest was pleased. So no poblem here.

Entertainment... guest DJ Larry was in tune with the current needs. Famous house tunes made the guest happy. The other entertainment, the dancing thing was SUBLIME. The "puporsefully-costumed dancers" was interactive and energetic doing 15-20 minutes sets. Again I must stress on the need to continue this form of attraction in the venues weekly night offering. I'll be there when they do.

Event wise... What some orgnanizers tend to overlook is the attracion factor. Basic rule of thumb, get the participants invlove and give them a hell of a good time, and they will remember your events.

In this event, the participation was relatively high and personal attention was given to guest in the form of interaction in between crew/performers and the guest. I.e. I was invited to dance on the long bar table like a couple of times. I didn't refuse. Hehehe...

The full usage of key areas in the venue was also a plus. Performances on the bar, infront of the DJ deck and on the main area (long bar table) has multiplied and vary guest attention to not only one area.

Somehow I have seen a decline in on-stage contest and games to be used as brand promotional tools. Probably it doesn't apply to some events, but when they do, this method does elevate awareness and eagerness to indulge in brand related promotion activities.

And giving goodie bags to guest upon their exit is a not very common practice but a good one nevertherless. Many organizers don't stay at the door for along time. They do what they need and move on. Again, another show of personalized attention to current or would-be future patrons.

What am I trying to say is that
  1. Red Square are very established at knowing what they and their guest wants for a party
  2. Event organizers blend their plans well with Red Square's attractions i.e. fire performers and dancers
  3. I can predict a heap of generosity in future sponsored events offerings conducted by/at the club
  4. Personal attention (if it's an on-going practise) is a BIG TURN-ON

We gave this event THE COOLER EXPERIENCE. It was one of the most well-executed launch/opening/introduction party.

Browsed trough the bar offerings catalouge. My only negative comment is the above average beverage pricing. The only comfort is knowing that they are generous in the portions. Which means you're getting REAL coctails and not some lesser quality taste-driven concoction.

Some how or rather, Malaysian mentality still leans towards opening/reserving for bottles. You don't see this in the western scene. All drinks bought from the bar. Cocktails are still novelty items here.

But hey... if you can afford 'em, don't listen to me.

Lets end this post with some info and important details on Red Square Vodka Bar

Soft launch promo

Click on map for larger image

First timers getting there will find that it's relatively easy, with numerous entry points to the mall and the club parking itself.

Abit of fun secrety fact... the parking is still free/of lesser charge as it has yet to be officially managed. I was told till September. Hmmm...

Open this book and you shall find the Red Square story.

A story of wonderous delights and sinful pleasures blanketed by sea of euphoric seductive music and performances...

Once upon a time... there was a land far...FAR to the north...

Russia...

A land which covers more than an eighth of the Earth’s land area and extends across 11 time zones with weathers reaching below freezing...

A land onced ruled under the star, sickle and hammer backrounded by the red socialist patriotic blood of fallen comrades...

Where people still adorn the Georgian wool tall-hats or Papakhi and everyone... and I mean everyone drinks VODKA like water.

Nice...

And some creative-business-generators decided that Malaysians needed some of the Russian bravado with this elixir called vodka...

And an extension of a well recepted chain of Russian-themed Vodka bars was brought to our shores.

So let's cut the democratic crap and get 'Soviet' as a new attraction has arrived

KL CITY'S LATEST VODKA BAR

Vodka! Vodka! Vodka! *zombie-like chant*.

Mmmm... I was invited to their Media Party as a part of the launch activities.

The party

Red Square Vodka Bar @ Cap Square

Cap Square? It's KL's month-old, latest addition to our shopping pleasures. Will get back to this later.

4 of us came to cover the event.

Event blogger team signing up

Upon entering, I went to inspect this new territory.

Entertaining guest was DJ Larry flown in specially from Red Square Jakarta.

Wonder what has DJ Larry seen in bars/clubs in Jakarta. I heard they have a great nightlife with multitudes of entertainment for all types.

Long bar table with reflective top. Reflex colour changes from spot led lights. Also serves for an ulterior purpose. Will get to that in abit.

The busy bar

Good crowd. Doors open at 7.30ish (Happy Hour Time for most establishments) and most seated/lounge areas were occupied. I was there around 9.

My arrival was greeted with a tap-fresh pint of Tiger. Nice...

I was on the prowl for finger food and COCKTAILS. But I was stalled... As if there was a mystiqal vibe of 'party readiness' which seeped into the guest. Everyone toned down...

And without notice or announcement, they came...

RED SQUARE TABLE-TOP DANCERS!

Sweet mother of...

Sexy...

Blogger's note
There is nothing more captivating than a troupe of dancers performing for the guest party/viewing pleasure. And a troupe of "puporsefully-costumed dancers" on a TABLE-TOP... Haaaa *sigh*

I have seen my fare share of dance performances for this sort of occasions and venue. And all I can say is that, I was thorouhly entertained. My hope for this to purforate into the weekly night's offering of this establishment.

Rationale... there's nothing that a party guy (and girl) loves more than "puporsefully-costumed dancers" dancing to (for) them. I know I'd love them.

Let's see more dancers in action.

Notice the glued crowd

But... there are a few things a party guy would NOT enjoy. Let's take Edmundo's example.

Calmly enjoying his lager

Then...

Having some tight male glutes shoved to your face.

Hahaha...

To be continued...

This party, was held a day after our "Refreshment flowed as freely as the music" party.

Only some of us got the invitations to this party. And I was not one of them.

So I pass the torch of The Cooler Experience photojournalism to Edmundo. Dude, you need more practice. Thanks for the effort.

The party

The MASSIVE crowd. It's rare to see this on regular nights. It's got to be an event.

Security was TIGHT

Foreigners with no passport... OUT. Locals improperly dressed... OUT. Kindly notice the device on the security personal (a.k.a ZOUK well-reputed bouncers) hands.

It's a METAL DETECTOR.

Sorry for the bad pix. Sorry for the bad pix. What in hell where they looking for. Must be a request from the organizers.

Sometime aroun 11.45...

Paul van Dyk was on deck!!!

Massive crowd, sweaty party people and a smoky dancefloor. Not a very good combo.

Lasers we love

The partiers was HYPED UP!!!

DJ PAUL VAN DYK

The closest our designated photographer got to the DJ. Front row was a MAD HOUZ.

The set ended around 3.20

Check out our vid of the party

Part 1

Part 2

PVD also attended to fan's request for signature.

After party comments from the boys were off the positive type. Expected for an international act like PVD.

Again, the venue is getting smaller and smokier... superclub still? Hmmm...

Next up, the FINALE to theis crazy "July is going to murder us... but we die a happy death" perty series 2008.

Next post will be up tomorrow, 11/08/2008 (Monday).

Then we'll get back to more of what August 2008 offers and our exclusive interview with an international DJ.

Stay tuned.

This time we'll review one of our frequently-participated sponsored event... Red Sessions. They're back and this time with a new brand recognition/promotion party series held at Heritage Mansion past 25/07/2008...

POWER OF NATURE

The party.

It started off with a somber and rainy entrance

Those who endured

To register... and register... again

Early guest were placed outside. Wonder what was the stall to open the indoor Heritage Mansion area. Maybe it was the rain...

CoolerChicas... Dhaima, SueSue and Shereena

CoolerHombres...Ollie, Edmundo & Fuzz

Came late but partied harder... Calvin

So far... Power of Nature (by Red Sessions) is among the very... VERY few to be forward and bold to promote their event with a sublime tag line for sponsored 'motivation'

"REFRESHMENTS WILL FLOW AS FREELY AS THE MUSIC"

The boldness... I like

Ye old gin and tonic

Event's outdoor DJ set up

Each area of the party was themed to include the word POWER in it. Outdoor area was "Power to Relax". POWER is a very important word for this event. Read on to know why.

DJ Eugene

As the rain (not the party) picked up pace, the indoor event area was opened.

Comfy. Heritage Mansions downstairs back-lounge area.

More of Ye old gin and tonic and another cocktail from the indoor bar. And if you think

"REFRESHMENTS WILL FLOW AS FREELY AS THE MUSIC"

was a plus point. Take a look at this.

A whole roast LAMB!

Aaahhh... *drama queen faint*

I'm trying my best to not appear like a newbie naive event blogger (I believe I have grown with the years)

But it's very uncommon sight that a display of such magnitude is served for FINGER FOOD. I was expecting the usual tapas/spring roll/local finger food ensemble.

Good 'wow' factor.

Imagine lamb... and alcohol (which flows freely). Ollie was advised by the chef to choose one's poison. Alcohol or lamb.

I choose both. Muahahaha...

There was a choc fountain to dip in skewered marshmallows. No one was about to get messy. It was overlooked.

Lets pause and enjoy

The lamb line

Bon Appétit!

Indoor was themed "Power to Party"

Entertaining guest were

DJ Gabriel

DJ Gabriel was joined by this fella. Familiar isn't he?

Host and DJ for the night, Joey G

Hmmm... that's about it really. No show. No performers/dancer. No introduction to anything. Non stop cocktails (ooops, isn't this a good thing)

OTHER THINGS THAT WENT ON

(Why must we bother our local DJ/celebs?)

Btw... there was a competition (I have no idea what the prize was). Photographed posed of guest's take on what POWER means to them.

Contest + (cocktails + lamb) = A weird FUN time

This is our rendition of what POWER is

Power is to be on top

Oh ya... there was also a VVVVVIP area upstairs. So God knows what went on there. Should have investigated (and maybe stayed there for the rest of the night. Hehehe...)

VVVVVIP area

Event review
Nothing much really. An A-OK event for us.

I don't get one thing. What is with the personal one-to-one promo of the brand/product in a loud club-like audio environment. Couldn't hear a thing. Need to scream to chat.

And I was waiting for some sort of show or at least some stage promo on the agenda for the night.

Well... they are events of all sorts. This one looks to one which borders between a thanks-for-your-support party and a promotion party.

HAd fun but didn't get it though. MAybe the next one I'll get it.

But what do I know right...

Next up, another Red Sessions event the day after this event.

And it's all about Paul van Dyk.

Stay tuned.

Future event ~ MERDEKA MONTH MOTIVATIONS with the Klubbers.net Annual Party 2008 @ Zouk KL, 09/08/2008

Visit our new blog at www.thecoolerexperience.blogspot.com

Fuhhh... *tired*

Unless you're in the industry (the party a.k.a event industry) it's kinda hard to cope with the abundance of sponsored event nowadays. That's not inclusive of the exclusive media parties, exclusive small parties and VVIP parties.

Let's give the July 2008 party series reviews a brake and get on with another most-anticipated and most-talked about MERDEKA MONTH MOTIVATIONS party this month.

This Saturday (09/08/2008), you can head down to Zouk KL for an annual celebration of our beloved EDM community at

KLubbers.net Annual Party 2008 feat. Aly & Fila (Egypt) @ Zouk KL (Mainroom), 09/08/2008

Klubbers.net... Sounds familiar? You bet it is. Read our write-up about this site at the end of the post.

Some words from the organizer

"Be prepared and celebrate the Klubbers.net Annual Party 2008 with a new sound of euphoric, hands in the air, rush-to-your-senses, sweeping and melodic trance.

A sound taking the world's best clubs by storm and now exclusively here for you at Zouk Club KL on 9th August 2008."

EVENT INFO

What
Klubbers.net Annual Party 2008 featuring ALY & FILA

Where
Zouk Club KL (Mainroom)

When
9th August 2008, 10PM onwards.

Schedule
10PM to 12AM - TERENCE C (MY) - Good choice for opening DJ. Nice...
12AM to 3AM - ALY & FILA (EG)

T&C
Event opens to Klubbers.net members and patrons aged 21 and above only. Club Rules Apply.

How
Complimentary entry for the first 200 Klubbers.net members. The registration for e-invites opened sometime around the wee hours of Thursday (24/07/2008). Closed bout last weekend.

How do I know? I was awake the whole night that day (don't ask why), and I checked the site like 3-4 times a day everyday since the event promo page opened (super kiasu)

Anyways...

Pre-sale tickets at RM 35 + 2 Heineken Bottles. It's selling fast! Visit www.klubbers.net to Book Online.

And cover charge is RM40(Ladies) / RM45(Men) (inc 1 drink)

Why attend this event?
Obviously a FUN time in the making. Aly & Fila are really good DJs. Top 50 by DJMag Top 100 DJ list and they have played with the likes of Armin van Buuren.

Plus... 1st 200 Klubbers.net members who registered in their site for the event e-invites get the tickets for free.

But... due to overwhelming sign up response and capacity limit, the Free Entry Registration is now closed (bout a week ago).

Also a chance to meet the Klubbers.net community to mingle, 'motivate' and be merry.

Blogger's note
Seems like the number of registration was some what UNLIMITED cause some of my party peeps registered late and still got the e-invites before they completely closed the registration.

Before a week ago... only 1st 200 who registers will get the e-invites.

Now they change it to

"Be The 1st 200 member to arrive at the venue before 12am to enter free. Please print and show your invitation e-mail for entry."

I'm speculating here. The above can only mean that more (I predict double to triple) than the allocated/stated amount of e-invites was distributed to members/non-members who registered online.

So, if you are not THE 1ST 200 to be at the venue (even if you have the invites), you will have to fork the cover charge.

Hmmm... let's do some math.

Let's say just 100 people with e-invites, upon not knowing that they ARE supposed to be the 1st 200 at the door and still believed that they WERE the exclusive 1st 200 members to register... as mentioned previously before the change.

They have to pay cover.

Take RM 45 (we choose this amount cause men will OUT NUMBER women indefinitely)

That's RM 45 x 100pax = RM 4500. 200 extra people with invites who couldn't get in... RM 9000. And so on and so forth.

Hmmm... that's neat (not accurate info ok. Only speculations. Don't sue me).

My rationale to this is easy. When an online registration for contest/invitation is open, the 1st 200 amount can be reached within hours or even minutes depending on the popularity of the site.

I.e. Tuborg's 1st 25 contest for the event at Three-Kingdom past 1st August. It closed bout an hour++ after they announced it. So on and so forth.

Sooo.... to avoid the above speculation being true and happens to you... those with invites PLEASE... PLEASE!!! Come early.

And when you do, give us a holler cause you'll see (at least me) our party kiasu faces early at the venue.

It's not that kiasu really. Now, we can yam cha at new massive MAMAK complex in between Public Bank and Wisma Dredging as it will be opened, I believe on 08/08/2008 (wtf, same day as Olympic). No more going to the P. Ramlee mamak area.

I see you party animals there aight...

Chiowz.

Who is Aly & Fila?

Shivers – hairs on the back of your neck – hands in the air – reaching for the lasers – losing your mind – rushing to the music – just some of the side effects of listening to Egyptian Trance Sensation ALY&FILA in full flow on the dance floor.

Since they burst into the international clubbing consciousness with their massive hit Eye of Horus back in 2003 they have been a full-on inspiration to clubbers and DJs alike.

Their gorgeous, euphoric, uplifting blend of sweeping trance has seen them rise to A-list status alongside the likes of Armin, Blank & Jones, Johan Gielen, Tall Paul and more. At the forefront of next generation dance music superstars, they’ve already broken through into the UK, Europe and Asia and now stand at #40 in TheDJList.com.

Aly & Fila were the most requested act to appear at this years A State of Trance 350 Event in Antwerp, Belgium and with numerous appearances at 'A State Of Trance 300 Anniversary Party around the world, they are very much men of the moment!

What is Klubbers.net?

Klubbers.net is an online clubbing community with aims to connect clubbers via interest in dance music and clubbing scenes and also aims to promote nightlife & clubbing events mainly in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Since inception in 2006, Klubbers.net has covered most of the prominent nightlife related events and large scale parties nation wide via digital photography where clubbing scenes are presented as distinguished lifestyle / social phenomenon.

Registered members will be able to manage their own profiles, upload and maintain personal photos collection and communicate with other members in the community.

Other channels of interaction include photos upload in public gallery, chat box and many more.

At Klubbers.net, they also feature an exclusive photo gallery consisting of photos taken at various clubbing venues and events around KL (when you're there, find pix of CoolerClubbers aight.

(Info & picture source: Klubbers.net)

Blogger's note
Good EDM semi-community site in Malaysia. But abit slow (or none at certain times) on the previews and news about parties around town compared to other similar community sites. Sometimes, they are on a stand still. For updated info, you have to go trough their forum.

I believe, like other semi-community websites, it works on ADVERTISING and DIRECTORY LISTING. So only events which is in their monthly/yearly arrangements will be featured, which explains the limited previews.

Total community sites are those like MASH. Limited to None advertisements but forum-based info and interaction.

And, most importantly, annually they will celebrate their members and the community with an annual party. The 1st one was at Maison last year... Klubbers.net 1st Anniversary @ Maison KL, 12/10/2008.

Other than the previews thing, upon meeting some cool peeps from the site and gained some sponsored items in the past... we dubbed Klubbers.net an A-OK semi-community site.

July '08 Aftermath No. 5 ~ BEST MASSIVE HIP HOP CLUB EVENT 2008... Hennessy Artistry @ Mont Kiara, 19/07/2008 (Part 2/2)

Visit our new blog at www.thecoolerexperience.blogspot.com

~ July's Aftermath No. 1 Part 1 & Part 2

Let's get back to the party.

The party

A bit of recap from last post

Crowd was growing by the minute

We had this all night long and...

Right after helping the girls with their assignment.

We went back in and hit da floor hard with some good Taiwan music cause

MACHI

was performing

My Mandarin is still at the elementary 1 level. So I only understand some words. Especially those vulgar ones (hehehe...)

Their energy was respectable. Not much interaction with the crowd though. Check out their performance that night in this 6 parts video at Youtube.

This is part 1 of 6, More of Machi's performance at this event check out HERE

Right after Machi's some-what hard message driven rap ansemble there was a brief intermission.

What was there to do but to 'motivate', mingle and be merry. By this hour (roun 11ish) most of us drowned them cocktails like it was water.

But can it get any better?

It should and it did cause by the time this fella made it onto the stage, everyone knew what time it is

time to GET LOW and CRUNK CRAZY

"Ya'll ready for him?"... "I said, YA'LL REDY FOR HIM?"

Crowd (frantically) : Aaahhh!!!!!

FLO RIDA was in DA HOUZ!

He burst onto the stage with enigmatic energy. I was impressed.

The crowd was crazy.... Thank God our table was nearby.

Crisp, Clean and Country. The sounds of Flo Rida... Da Party Hip Hop King.

Crowd was thrilled to bangin' tunes like

  • American Superstar (this is where he burst on the stage and started his repertoir)
  • Ack Like You Know
  • Roll feat. Sean Kingston (no Sean Kingston off-course)
  • In The Ayer (great crowd-participation party song)
  • Ms. Hangover (OMG! 2 bottles of Hennessy was shaken and burst to the crowd. Crazy MOFO)
He sang his 2nd single "Elevator" too. It was a good 45 minutes-ish performance. Not bad considering Missy Elliot's 10 minutes singing, 30 minutes other things past XLive event.

But no one song, nor one performer will ever match the audacity of his No. 1 Hit Single, the song to dance-to year 2007, best Hip Hop record 2007 etc... etc...

Watch the vid after these few pictures for if you wanna know how it felt like being a couple of meters from this performer.

"In the Ayer... A... Ayer... Ayer... A, Ayer..."

The closest I got to him

Nothing thrills the crowd...

Nothing turned us on that night...

Nothing turned the crowd into MUSH like....

The No 1 HIT SONG of 2007

"Low"

enjoy...

Best video of the show in youtube.

Before I forget, what would a music/dance based party be without the sexy dancers

After Flo Rida... the crazy crowd at the stage subsided.

Somehow or rather this next international POWER house was not given his fair share of acknowledgement (I could be wrong... I was in a compromising state of mind... ehem...)

Or everyone decided to just enjoy this DJ from their lounging areas. That's a shame...

This DJ did not dissapoint with his arsenal of hip hop mixes and HOUZ music and when DJs play my songs, I acknowledge.

DJ Latin Prince

A pose for CoolerClubbers. Thanks mate.

DJ Latin Prince ended for what must be ONE of the most entertaining... captivating... alluring... tantalizing... subliminal-messaging (ooops)... and all the other wonderfull -ing ending words in the thesaurus.

May many more 'sponsored' event of this calibre captivate, challenge and change mind-sets of party people wherever you might be

To the future...

Salute!

Ehem... ehem...

We at The Cooler Experience Blog would like to award this event by Hennessy Artistry as...

The Cooler Experience's

SUPERFUNKTASTILICIOUS... THE BEST SPONSORED NON-EDM CLUB EVENT of 2008!!!

Other things that went on

Numero uno at any party would be the celebration of party people via self-photography.

Fellow blogger and CoolerClubber, Jien

Hikaru and CopyKate

More bloggers (The ones I know... Back - Jason 2nd from left - Jamie and 3rd from left - Bobby)

Nicholas, who was walking around with his 'Artist' tag/pass. Dang jealous...

Shifu blogger Shaolin Tiger

Also met and chatted with partying wandering celebs

DJ T-Bone. I kinda embarrased him by asking why is he not in the VIP section. He was nice at answering the question. Sorry mate, didn't mean to diss you.

Managing Director of Riche Monde Malaysia and Singapore, Mr Frederic Noyere

Some old mates

This two fellas joined us for an event last time

Look at my fugly over-'motivated' face. Btw, this is Adam.

After 6 years, my first time meeting an ex-highschool mate of the same age from my Garden days.

I always wondered why haven't I bumped into them at parties etc. Or am I the only one busy partying. Hmmm...

After Flo Rida and many... many... MANY cocktails later, I don't even remember why there are NOOO DISCRIMINATING party pictures of my fellow CoolerClubbers. That's smart guys... I'll get you next time.

But there was some DISCRIMINATING party picture of me. Hehehe...

GOT LOW and CRUNKed CRAZY at Hennessy Artistry!

I'm out...

Next up will be the back-to-back RedSessions party to celebrate POWER OF NATURE and PAUL VAN DYK.

Stay tuned.

Chiowz.

And I promise to make it all the best late-post you ever came across in this blog.

Only then I'll get back to this month's MERDEKA MONTH MOTIVATIONS in which there is a few TO GO sponsored events and 1 preview of an UNDERGROUND-EDM style party...

Hennessy Artistry presents Flo Rida, Machi, DJ Latin Prince, Pop Shuvit and VJ Callen @ Bukit Kiara Indoor Arena, 19/07/08

The most anticipated event of July 2008 even came with a COOL press conference in which I was apart of the media covering it.

Check it out here... PART 1, PART 2, PART 3

Time to get your freak on, bring in da game, flaunt ya tail feathers for shizzle ma nizzle bizzle (wtf...)

Da mack daddy of an organizer

Da party

Da cocktail of da night... Hennessy Kuala Lumpur

Honey gold delight of Hennessy, Grand Marnier, Agostura Bitters, Lime & Pineapple juice served with ice and garnished with a thick slice of Orange.

Mmmm good...

No VVVVVIP this time. Exclusive invites though. Network was of da heezy with peeps tryin to get to da party

Da counter. 2nd attraction in-line at any event. Registration counter was appealing.

Insider's Tip
The 1st thing which attracts you to decide to get invovled with the event upon arrival is the first impression you get at the entrance i.e. outdoor pre-party performers, deco, security etc.

Comment 1 - Registration on the net, at the door after party surveys

Hmmm... "Got to pay to play" (Blackstreet)

Scene at da entrance

Let's board... Da Hennessy Express

A place of delectable delights, OFF-THE-ROOF performers and Hennessy cocktails which flow like the Alabama river.

Upon request of a mutual friend. I will feature the not-mentioned but should-be opening act (not mentioned at the flyers. posters, e-media, press con and even before the event of the night).

You ask anyone that came early and I'll assure you many wasn't aware of this cool DJ paving the night with his mixes, keeping us entertained for the hour or so before Pop Shuvit.

Bedroom DJ Delight... DJ SYARIN

DJ Syarin - Local house and trance DJ

Like all my reviews on sponsored events, Hennessy Artistry is one with the most POWERFULL kwan to give you all you need to hopefully develop that wonderfull TASTE, FEEL AND PREFERENCE of their brand.

I don't know bout you guys...

But when I'm anywhere near my favourite coctail of Hennessy...

I give it a swirl and take that sip...

It always takes me home.

Always...

(Dang, too hard-sell)

Barmen made one specially for yours truly even before they serve

The armies of "little glasses of pleasure". The sensual seduction.

To be honest, I do not prefer the Malaysian version.

It looses it sweatness quite fast due to the ice and probably the usage of Grand Marnier as compared to other Hennessy cocktails like Miami.

Nevetherless...

They came by Hennessy foot soldiers. All night long? All night longgg...

I like this coctail better

On the night, you can find 4 variations of Hennessy's city-based speciality cocktails.

They were either served to you or you can get it at the 3-4 floor bars and 4 city-based cocktail themed areas

VIP areas in Blue (Miami), Yellow (KL) and White (Paris) and an open themed area where you can get all four cocktails offering for the night, Hennessy Shanghai (Red)

As the crowd grew by the minute...

I leave you (for now) with BEFORE pictures of CoolerClubbers who came and felt Hennessylicious.

Edmundo & Ollie

Dandelion & SueSue

How Zany? and his other half

Big Bro James & Da Hood Edmundo

They are showing an example of what should the Designated Driver (DD) indulge and what would the to-be DUI (Drinking Under the Influence) offender indulge.

So take a cab if you're conciousness is down the drain.

Kalan. Hey bro, come more often! I know you had fun.

We left Pop Shuvit to do Dandelion's and SueSue's focus group research assignment in front of the venue.

Kind of weird but fun thing to do. Their lecturers should be flipping their mundane brains out!

Imagine a focus group, discussing about a serius topic of Product/Brand Placement in Motion Pictures (that's hard ok), in front of a noisy HAPPENING in-door club area, CAUGHT ON CAM, with party-ready participants, the occasional performing artist arriving at the venue in the video's back ground...

Best idea so far. Wish I had it back in the days. Youth nowdays...

Stay tuned as we GOT LOW and CRUNK CRAZY to the memorably massive likes of MACHI, DJ LATIN PRINCE, MAD SEXY DANCERS and FLO RIDA!!!

Peace out...

PS - The second part is scheduled at 10pm tomorrow (Tuesday, 05/08/2008)

Let's get back to the party.

It was held here...

Nah... but real pretty isn't it. Onitsuka Tiger's neon electric cityspace

The party

No VVVVVIP this time. Entered as invited 'public'.

Ze crowd. Massive as usual at Zouk KL

Pre-party remarks sign-in at the registration table. Kindly notice the top-right sign-in. Self promotion is a must.

Sponsor. Onitsuka Tiger + Tiger beer. Match made in event's heaven.

CoolerClubbers for the night. From left - Edmundo, How Zany? and Big Bro James. Each with an event-sponsored goodie bag.

CoolerChicas - SueSue and Dandelion

What am I doing in the pictures...

In conjunction with the promotion event is the local shoe designs on a Mexico 66 by the 15 finalist for the Onitsuka Tiger Design Competition 2008. Malaysian Onitsuka designs at its finest.

One of the attractions... Henna tattoo parlor by DragonFly.

Simplistic yet captivating game, "Fold the shirt in 2 moves"

Unless you work in a apparel boutique, it's kinda hard to get a shirt folded NEATLY in two moves. The dude in the cap used to be my ex-highschool mate. Hey bro, wuzzzuppp...

Tiger-worthy entertainment, DJ Blink a.k.a 5ft. of the party-savy duo, LAPSAP

Highlight event for the night...

ONITSUKA TIGER FALL/WINTER COLLECTION 2008~

No business taking photos in the front row, with the big boys from major nightlife/lifestyle magazine... its your friendly event blogger, CoolerFuzz.

Sexy... I mean the apparel not the model. Mmmm...

Sporty and street goes along hand in hand

and that dude and dudettes was the ONITSUKA TIGER FALL/WINTER COLLECTION 2008. Cooler stylo milo.

Next up, the contest winner announcement and prize giving ceremony.

"I won! I won money! Yeah!"

Everyone is a winner... just some win money while the rest gloat in defeat. Hehehe...

The awaited 'LUCKY DRAW' was next.

Only those without printed-out invites had a chance to win

Kinda unfair but that's life mate. If you want to make people happy, choose the most important and beneficial group to your cause. Get it?

Ze crowd for the night. Not bad.

Plus it's among the very few time an event OFFICIALLY invites the attendees to party on after at the weekly club night offering. Expected redundancy.

Cause most people stays after anyways. Some even go to events just to stay after the event and party (it's a well known fact mates).

Wash down our fashion eagerness with some refreshing lager on the house. Thanks.

None of us stayed for the after event party. Too tired...

Event review
Hmmm... all I can say is that, it's another promotion party. Should have been more offerings (I'm comparing with their similar Singapore's event).

You know... like give something SUPER MEMORABLE for your future customers to REALLY remember you brand.

Abit of personal attention, maybe more interaction with the crowd via on-stage competitions. Stuff like that.

If that its too much to ask then... it's ok.

Brand wise... you guys should check this one-of-a-kind vintage oriented street apparel.

Party wise... another MIXED FEELINGS event.

The night after, there was a more IMPORTANT agenda.

Stay tune for the next episode of this series as we GOT LOW and CRUNK CRAZY at THE EXCLUSIVE, MOST MASSIVE HIP HOP CLUB EVENT OF 2008...

~ July's '08 Aftermath No. 2

~ July's '08 Aftermath No. 1, Part 1 & Part 2

We took a brake from our normal club/rave oriented sponsored event and went to Clique Bar Lounge @ Piccolo Hotel, Bintang Walk past 12 July. It's about time for us to chill and unwind before the crazy parties set in the weeks to come during this month.

This event wasn't heavily advertised. Exclusivity was probably the main agenda as most attendees were current clientel or people like myself who stumbled upon an opportunity for a relaxed and fun time.

Only 100 patrons per night for both official introduction at Clique.

I was looking for some time in between my busy schedule to celebrate the relationship's 4th year anniversary. The introduction came just in the nick of time.

Chill out time... Let's get sexy...

Clique Lounge Bar

Can't be seen here is Planet Hollywood next door. Open style street lounge/bar at a prime location.

Best claim they have in the bar's name is that they're the 1st Street-level Bar at Bintang Walk. I must agree with the claim.

Love this small personal touches like a chalk board (or whatever you call it). Used to be common back in the days.

As usual, the first to check out the place

Modest celebratory decorations... Mid-ranged comfort. Quaint venue. Can't be seen in detail is the dimensions of the bar to the main lounge area. It's a bit tight.

Our only entertainment for the night... and maybe for most nights. Don't see any live bands/DJs as attractions.

My cell mate. I'm in a prison of feelings and emotions. Aaaaa...

Edmundo joined us for the night

Drinks was 'sponsored'-flow. Beverage offerings for the bar's introduction consist of Long Island, Sangria, Margarita, Whiskey coke, Vodka sprite and good 'ol Carlsberg. And on the agenda for the night was half-hour intervals of mozzikis (Italian tapas) servings and shooter rounds.

I counted the menu and there were exactly 10 types of mozzikis.

Sounds like a promising and delectable adventure of the palate at a bar introduction right? Guess again...

As I kept on bothering the good barmen on their house promotions... the 'promising' and 'delectable' beverage came...

Margarita and Sangria... buffet style

The other beverage offerings

Sangria a la punch

Hold up... you have to agree with me on this. How do you introduce your house offerings, which is meant to tantalize and impress future (and current) patrons to localize at your establishment.

I maybe a small event blogger, but I have seen my share of club/bar/lounge/restaurant introduction.

Sorry... no where near 'impressed'.

Rational... NO WAY a good cocktail can be made in bulk. Punch are different, I know. That's is why establishments dry your wallets/purses just from their beverage menu (not cover charge). Because it's THE purpose for indulging oneself in cocktails anyways. To enjoy a sublime craft made by crafty bar-hands.

Complain... complain... complain.

This reminds me of a prom scene

Edmundo showing us how it's done with style

1st up... Pizza skin mozzikis

Cheese, Duck and tomatoes bruschettas

Not so bad croques

Supposedly, choc truffles

Not in the picture is some skewered roast chicken with sweet sauce.

10 mozzikis huh? The above is my laymen translation of what I ate which I found to be different from the menu. Some fancy names were displayed in that menu.

Beef carpaccio with quail egg, mini aroncini with wild mushroom ad ricotta, teas smoked duck with red onions... to name a few. Introduction indeed.

Complain... complain... complain

Is that all I do? Hope not. Maybe I should look at this from another perspective. The perspective of "how much fun we had".

How much?

Alot surprisingly. Because CoolerClubbers live for events. An event with all the basic FUN ingredients is always welcomed.

Mmm good... P.Dandelion and Shereena. She came abit late but joined in the FUN nevertheless

Crowd picked up around 10.30ish. Good crowd. A mix bag. Could be the bar's intro guest like us

Cheers!

Gan bei! (Yam seng!)

Salute!

A pose for CoolerClub's Mr. Jim Beam a.k.a GD. I know you'd love this place. It promotes your fav drink man.

PS - GD is the only one that can take this whiskey on the rocks or with water. The rest has to drown the thing in mixers. Or we die...

Other happenings

There was a contest to win a bottle of Famous Grouse on the spot

Just count (in your tipsiness) how many fluffy stars in the box. A dude at the next table got it. Dang jealous...

Oh ya, there was a fire at Grand Millenium nearby on the night

My theory indicates cigarette-caused incident. As usual, when these happens, a traffic jam was put in motion.

That's bout it for my review of Intro @ Clique. Although it should not have been that way (for two nights if it mattered), we sincerely hope that on normal business nights, guest are served what they deserve.

In overall, the location factor is a big pull for me. Tall glass windows separates you from intrigued pedestrians looking-in, wandering how much fun it would feel to be inside.

Another MIXED-FEELINGS event.

Next up in our July 2008 series will be an event with Japanese Tigers Running in Jogging-Styled Street Sneakers @ Zouk KL past 18 July 2008.

Chiowz.
